The Parent & Toddler Group

Preparing your children for school

Parson's Green: Thursdays 3.45 - 5.00 pm

We are a friendly group for parents and toddlers from approximately 10 months - 2 years.

Two nursery school teachers from the Zebedee Nursery School run the group. Activities include artwork, table toys, construction toys, the home corner, sand and water; play dough, stories, songs and music.

As part of the nursery school the Toddler Group is an excellent preparation for children moving on to the school as they become familiar with the surroundings and the teachers without being away from their parents.

Good books for toddlers

Early reading is a source of learning and creative for your children. Here you have some suggestions to read with your child:

Going on a Bear Hunt

By Michael Rosen

This is an old classic but wonderful for a familiar reading pattern and sounds the children can copy. And of course there is the excitement when they reach the cave...

The Biggest Bear

By Adam Relf

This is a very simple story about a bear looking for the biggest bear in the world. The illustrations are beautiful and there is a lovely surprise on the last page!

The Very Happy Hen

By Jack Tickle

This is a lovely pop up book with big pop up animals and easy text.
